As you notice, vinyl playback requires a different "cattle of fish", unlike a CD player to enjoy music. Essentially you would requires a record turntable. The essential component of a turntable set-up wold be the cartridge or stylus. This "needle" moves along the ridges/grooves of a record to produce music. The turntable I own is a VPI Scoutmaster
